Absent-Minded Professors are not just your typical 4-piece rock band from Western Pennsylvania. Starting with a debilitating injury in a college dorm-room, lead singer, Vince Bone, formed the Professors with bassist Garrett Kocian. With the additions of drummer, Nevin Weller, and lead guitarist, Brett Batsa, the Professors developed into the high energy, feel good rock n’ roll group they are today. They have been described as having a “fresh take on a classic sound.”
They are inspired by the likes of Highly Suspect, the Doors, Tom Petty, the Pixies, and Nirvana. The Professors have played venues such as the Rex Theater, Mr. Smalls, and the Stage at Karma, but also are known to pack the house at the large bars in their local Westmoreland County scene. Also, they have pioneered and created multiple concerts through Western Pennsylvania. The Professors have made newspaper headlines of the Tribune Review and the Latrobe Bulletin when they renovated 2 spots in the city of Latrobe to throw concerts with attendance in the hundreds.
Their new release “Flushed” is a 5 song EP depicting the feelings of being on the top of the world and the bottom.
